Beach Vacation

A friend of mine was extremely excited to tell me she just booked a room at a condo hotel on Myrtle Beach for dirt cheap.  Very close to the water.  That’s one place I’d like to go.  They’re heading down for their 5th wedding anniversary to spend a week at the beach.  I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already.  Happy Anniversary you two!

Medical ID Bracelet

A medical id bracelet is a must have for someone with a serious medical condition, drug and/or food allergies.  You can engrave prescribed medicines and emergency contacts on the bracelet.  In case of an emergency, the medical id bracelet can speak for you.  Paramedics can take a look to see what medicine or treatment not to give you, what may have caused the incident (maybe a food or drug allergy) and notify your family.

Are you a party person?

I used to be a party person, always inviting people over the house for one reason or another.  It’s never too early to plan a party, to be sure you get everything done.  First you have to decide on a theme and then the invitations.  Whether it be a Summer holiday,  Halloween invitations or even Christmas invitations.  Get them out early enough so your guests will save the date.  Nothing worse than throwing a party and no one shows up.

I’m back!

I’m back from my mini-vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.  One more day there would’ve been ideal, I just love that place!  I went over on Wednesday and came home Friday. I had to be back in town for a wedding at noon on Saturday so I didn’t have a choice.  The wedding was also a great time, they had a beautiful day for a party at the park.

We did lots of walking, sight-seeing and dining out.  The house is centrally located in Oak Bluffs so no car was needed.  One day we took a bus ride to Vineyard Haven (an area I hadn’t been to in years) and it poured off and on all day.  Despite the rain we had a great time.  Can’t wait to go back next year.

It’s a scary time for most of us.

I’m worried about how we’re all going to make it in the next few years.  With the cost of everything going up and up.  Gas and oil are beyond ridiculous, it’s getting harder to put food on the table and now a bunch of mortgage lenders are finding themselves in trouble trying to stay afloat. I’m so glad we purchased our home when we did, if we had waited until now we may not have been able to do it.

Grandma update

My grandmother is back to her old self again after the little scare we had.  After several blood tests, MRI’s and CAT Scans the doctors came to the conclusion that she had very low sodium levels and that is what caused her dizzy and lightheaded episodes.  We’re all happy that’s all it was, it’s something that can be fixed.  It really made her think of senior life insurance and her estate planning to be sure everything was in order.

My Mini-Vacation

(Hilton Head Island)

I’m going off on a little mini-vacation too!  I head off to Martha’s Vineyard for 3 days, it’s not nearly long enough but I’ll take what I can get.  It’ll be nice to get away from everything for a couple days.  I was browsing cottage rentals for next year to take a whole week and the prices are outrageous for my budget.  I checked out Hilton Head rentals in South Carolina and found the fees to be similar but the houses were gorgeous!  Too bad it’s a much farther drive than Cape Cod, it’s a beautiful place.

My kids are going away again.

Their off again!  Saturday my kids head off for yet another vacation, this one is with my parents. They’ll be away for 9 days. I won’t have to worry about cleaning up after the kids, pick up their toys, what to make for dinner and I’ll definitely have a lighter laundry load.  They’re lucky they have grandparents who take them away places, if it wasn’t for them, their vacations would be few and far between.

Ongoing weight loss battle.

Even though I haven’t used any, I have been curious about diet pills. I’m struggling to lose some weight and checked out a list of best diet pills but thought the absolute best way to lose weight is to eat less and move more. It sounds simple enough but I’m still having a hard time. I am pleased to announce that I have lost 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks. It’s a start!
