Black Friday Info.

I understand it’s a bit early to be talking about Black Friday but in my opinion, it’s never too early to get some holiday shopping done. About a week or so ago, my laptop died. My laptop was a Black Friday purchase. It was the first time I had ventured out to get something specific. My girlfiend and I got to Best Buy at 2 am and stood in line until the store opened at 6:00 am. It was a very cold night but I got an excellent deal, my laptop was just about half the original price.

Typically I would browse through the advertisements that came in the newspaper on Thanksgiving Day. Since then, I scour the internet weeks before Black Friday to see what kind of deals I may get on specific items I’m looking for. Sometimes I find things I wasn’t looking for. This past Christmas, I didn’t know what to get my dad. He’s a frequent traveler so I thought a GPS would be an ideal gift. I found a great deal on one at Staples thanks to searching the net for it. I only stood out 30 min for that one and also got it for about half price.

There’s no denying that there are great deals to be had by shopping the day after Thanksgiving but this year, I may sleep in, stay out of the cold and find my black friday deals online at Blackfriday.info.

Free samples anyone?

I found this great site this weekend and thought I’d pass it along.  I’m always looking for coupons or freebies.  In my opinion, free is the best price!  MySavings.com has searched out all the free samples and internet coupons you could possibly want.  I requested all the samples that interested me, all you have to do is sign up and then click on the links to the products.  I can’t wait to see what shows up in my mailbox.

This is not a paid post.

Shopping for skates.

I went out and bought some ice skates. I promised the kids that we’d go skating again this weekend since they loved it so much last weekend. They put skates on their list for Santa. The sporting goods store I went to had and unbelievable price on figure skates so I picked up a pair for my daughter. Unfortunately they did not have any for boys, all they offered were double blades in size 12 and 13 and then jumped to men’s sizes. An employee at the store called the other store that was about 30 minutes away and asked if they had a pair, the employee told me they were holding them a the front counter for 24 hours. I get to the other location, really pressed for time as I have chili in the crock pot at home, expecting my kids to be dropped off at any time and I left my cell phone at home! There was nothing at the front counter for me and no one admitted to taking the call. An employee takes me back to the skate section and there are NO boy’s figure skates, just like the store I was just at! I was fuming mad! He asked me “Are you sure you want to get him figure skates? When I was a kid, I asked my mom for skates and she got me figure skates but I wanted hockey skates” Yes, my son wants figure skates! No one was apologetic and I’m writing letters to managers!
