Wordless Wednesday #18 - Lets go crazy!

Procrastination comes to those who wait.
Last weekend I had a great night out with my girlfriend. We went to Hooters to meet up with some friends. It was my first time ever stepping foot in that place. For some reason I thought I was going to be uncomfortable but I wasn’t. Probably because we were meeting people that were already there and my girlfriend and I weren’t dining alone. We actually didn’t dine, as they were just about finished with their meals. We opted to just have a few drinks. We had a great time with old friends and can’t wait to do it again.
After chatting with Maggie last week about her plans to visit NYC and skating at Rockefeller Center (I wanted to go but sadly I couldn’t), I decided to bring the kids to a nearby rink, ISCC, to give skating a try. The kids were nervous since they’ve never been on skates and I’ve only attempted to ice skate twice in my life, when I was a kid, so I was nervous as well. I made plans with my friend Michele who has taken lessons so she was a pro compared to us.

The kids fell a bunch of times but never gave up, they both just got up and continued skating. I also took my 13 yr old niece, she never fell, she held onto the wall the entire time. I didn’t fall once! Phew! I was so proud of my kids, I couldn’t get over how well they were doing for their first time ever on the ice.
We get in the car after public skate finishes and my son says “I wish I was still skating, I can’t wait to do it again, I LOVE ice-skating!” I’m so glad I decided to bring the kids to try something new, I guess I know where I’m going next weekend.
What a busy holiday I had! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We not only had dinner on Thursday but had a repeat on Friday. Every year my family gets together at Sunrise Park for Thanksgiving. This year we held it on Friday for my uncle, his wife and daughter came up from Texas to join us.
I tell people that we have Thanksgiving at a park and they think it’s a bit odd or we’re just nuts. There is a big enclosed pavilion with tables, chairs, a fireplace and electricity. The tables get decorated with tablecloths, candles and center pieces. We set up the food buffet-style, on hot plates and crock pots. We set up a little bar in one area. It’s one of my favorite places and the kids absolutely love going there, especially for Thanksgiving. After dinner my dad takes the kids on a hike and tells them ridiculously tall tales (usually believed by 6 and 7 yr olds), I decided to go this year and had so much fun. I’ll be posting pictures in the next few days, to share with you! ![]()
Thirteen sights from Halloween night
I’m back at work after having a 4 day weekend. As I sit here sneaking in a post, I’m thinking I could’ve used just one more day.
Friday I sent the kiddos off to school and then I sat and watched tv for a couple hours, cleaned the house and got my hair cut.
Saturday my daughter had the Soccer Jamboree. We sat in the sun all day, it was hot! They didn’t win any of their 3 games, of course.
Sunday was girl’s night. My daughter had 4 friends over for a sleepover. We did nails, hair and make-up. We played games and they danced like fools.
Monday was a sit around and do a lot of nothing day. I had my nieces all day, we played a few games and took a long drive.
It was a picture perfect day.
