I wasn’t as into Black Friday this year as I have been in the past.  I ran out to a couple stores later in the morning for a few deals but nothing too crazy.  I have sat out all night at a store in the past but nothing was worth it this year and I really don’t have the extra money to spend on outrageous gifts.  It’s going to be a very modest Christmas this year.  I bought a lot of books for my kids, nieces and nephews.  I plan to check out some Christian books for my mother in law.  Even my mom got a book from us.  According to my daughter, she has wanted the Tori Spelling book.  Who on earth knows why, but if it’s what she wants….

I ran out to the store to pick up a few things today.  I heard a familiar voice a the check out as I was approaching with my purchases and who do I see?  My sister in law I haven’t spoken to since she hung up on me a few weeks ago.  She was chit chatting with the cashier and I ducked into one of the aisles.  I first thought of running towards the exit sign but I lingered for a while and then thought this is crazy, why am I hiding?  I walked to the register and she turned around, noticed me, I said “hey” and she said “hi” and then told her friend she had to get going, turned around and walked out the door.  I really wanted to let her have it but it’s not worth it.  It is what it is.

I’m healing quite nicely, the drain was removed on Friday and my stitches were removed yesterday.  The lab results confirmed that the tumor was benign!  The incision is looking better already.

I’m back to work, feeling better.  I’m still having pain in my mouth and my tongue is half numb.  It’s pretty hard to chew food as I start to chew on my own tongue.  Maybe I’ll lose a few pounds and not need the help of Fenphedra.  I certainly won’t be able to pig out at Thanksgiving dinner.

The pain is similar to that of having a tooth pulled, except it feels like I’ve had several teeth pulled every day.

One thing I’m getting accomplished is some Christmas shopping.  I had some money sitting in my paypal account that I plan to use for presents, but I wasn’t sure where I could shop online using paypal to checkout.  I did a simple google search and found a site at thefind.com where you just type in what you’re searching for and it’ll come up with online merchants that sell what you’re looking for and accept paypal.  You can find anything from equestrian riding apparel to Vera Bradley handbags (looking for one for mom, shh).

I love taking time off of work but it’s usually to go somewhere and do something.  I’m on day 4 of staying home and it’s driving me crazy.  I’d much rather be recuperating at a vegas hotel with room service, hot tubs and big fluffy pillows.  Instead, I’m here at my own house, getting my own food and no hot tub in sight.  There’s only so much internet to search and tv to watch.  I go for a follow up dr. visit today, hopefully I’ll be back to work on Monday.  Thank goodness!

All that waiting and worrying is finally over.  I had my surgery yesterday to remove a tumor and salivary gland from my neck yesterday.  I feel like I had some extreme dental work, half of my mouth hurts, my tongue hurts and is half numb.  I have a fairly large incision with 13 stitches and a drain tube.  I don’t look too pretty right now and can hardly eat anything without chewing on my own tongue, it’s a great excuse to eat ice cream!  I’ll be out of work the rest of the week but should be ok to return on Monday. I’ll save on gas but won’t be out of work long enough to need any car covers. I just took my pain killers so I’ll be feeling great in a few minutes, lol.

I caught a bit of Celebrity Rehab last night, you know the show where these washed up “celebrities” go to rehab clinics and it’s televised for our enjoyment.  I was feeling really bad for some of them, like Steven Adler from Guns ‘n’ Roses and Gary Busey.  First they’re hooked on drugs and now their trying to kick the addiction but letting the whole world see.  I wonder if they really want to get clean or just want to do the show because they’re desperate.  Not too long ago it seemed as though going to a rehab clinic like Promises was the thing to do, I just wonder if they’re really doing it for themselves or the money or maybe just trying to be famous again.

Soooo, after I got into it with my mother in law everything was ok.  I had my son’s birthday party this past Sunday and my sister in law never showed.  Can you guess what list she’s been put on?  I made one comment, it wasn’t offensive or damaging, it was simply the truth about something and I was irritated by it.  I apologized to my mother in law and assured her I would keep everything to myself from now on. 

Boy, I can’t wait until Christmas.  Brother!

My little baby turns 8 today.  I dug up one of my favorite and probably the messiest picture of my boy at 8 months old and this year’s soccer picture.  I can’t believe how he’s grown, it seems like just yesterday….
