Who would’ve thought I would be as bored as I’ve been without my kids at home.  They’ve been gone for an entire week now and I’m really missing them.  They have another week until they’re home.  It’s funny how much my life now revolves around my children.  I do everything with them and don’t really have a desire to go out and do things without them.  I’m not into the bar scene anymore so that’s not really appealing to me, shopping isn’t any fun alone, especially when you don’t really have the money to shop.  I have enjoyed not having to make a big dinner every night and it’s been nice to watch whatever I want on TV, whenever I want. 

A friend of mine is moving this August, she did something different this time to help a little with the headaches that go with moving to a new home.  She ordered moving boxes online and had them sent directly to her house.  All of her boxes will be of the same shape and size and will easy to move, fitting into the moving truck.  She won’t need to rely on used, unsteady and odd-shaped boxes.  Now, if she could order moving help as easy as ordering the boxes, that would be the best help of all! 

I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older and can appreciate things more or what it is but in the last couple of years I’ve been getting into jewelry more and more.  I received a beautiful necklace from my family for mother’s day and it actually came from a real jewelry store!  I found some nice handcrafted jewelry at W.Culpepper, there are some great pieces at great prices.

As some of you may know, I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds.  I haven’t been trying nearly as hard as I should but I guess it’s good that I have lost a couple pounds and haven’t gained anything.  I’ve been tempted to turn to supplements but even after researching and reading lipovox reviews and reviews of other weight-loss aides, I’m still a little leery and will continue to try on my own.

I remember when I was a kid, my brother and I had story books with our name in them.  We were part of the adventure and we thought it was the greatest thing ever.  I came across a site that sells those very books, in my opinion, there’s nothing better than personalized gifts.  I have no idea what ever happened to those books, I really wish that I had them now to show my kids.  I’m definitely going to have to check into getting them each one, they’d love it!

My friend Maggie and I happened upon a Cruise Night last night.  We went across the street to take a walk on the walking trails. I had never been to a Cruise Night before, never had reason to since I don’t own my own classic car or hot rod.  The atmosphere was great, it was a beautiful night and the dj was spinnin’ the oldies.  It’s too bad we weren’t offered a ride.

This is the time of year for lots of yard work and home improvements. I’m always trying to improve the landscaping in my yard.  I prefer to plant bushes and perennials that require little care.  I’d like to add daffodils and tulips this year which I should order soon so I can get them early enough to have them planted in the fall. I’m already starting to miss the kids, they took off yesterday morning to visit with their grandparents for 2 weeks.  I chose not to go this year as it’s a long 10 hour ride and I don’t do long trips in cars very well.  Sometimes I’m okay if I do the driving but I will still get a bit antsy.  Half the people that normally go to visit for the Fourth of July aren’t making the trip this year.  Next year is a huge get together that my mother-in-law really wants us to attend so we’re saving our pennies for then.

They arrived yesterday around 2:00 in the afternoon and by 9:00 last night Adam had already had some issues with his younger cousin and this morning I’m told that my oldest, Erin was feeling homesick last night and was crying.  If that is a precursor to their vacation, it’s certainly going to be a long two weeks for them.  I make sure I call in the morning to say “Good Morning!”  and they call me at night before they go to bed so we can say “Good Night!” and “I love you”.  This morning I talked to both of my kids and all is well, they were getting ready to go swim in the lake.  My children are my life, they’re my best friends, I’m sure I’ll be missing them terribly very soon.

The want to blog, I thought I lost it. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything because I have been busy and then just didn’t make the time to sit down and do anything with my blog. Carl’s aunt died last week so we went away for a couple days to Boston and Cape Cod for the services.  It was exhausting.  I get a call while I’m away that my aunt in Georgia was in the hospital with fluid around her heart.  After we came home I get a call at work to tell me my grandmother fell and was in the hospital.  Geeze!  All this at once!  As of today, my aunt has had surgery and is in recovery and my gram is back home after 3 days of tests.  I hope the Dr’s find out why each occurrence happened and hope they are treatable.
