I got an awesome deal on Easter plants this year. A local grocer was selling them for 3/$10. I stopped to pick up one for myself and one for my mom but then I came home and thought about my grandmother, so back to the store I went. They had just gotten some more in without the flowers in bloom. My good deal got even better when I found a double! A garden shop around the corner from where I work was selling the same plants for $10 each. I love a deal!!

I’m itching to take the family on a vacation. Get on a plane and go away somewhere. We drive up to Maine to stay with the in-laws or drive over to Cape Cod for visiting with family. My daughter has never been on a plane and sees it as “cool”. Friends of mine have been talking about going to Disney World and I’m somewhat interested, not quite sold on it yet. There’s lots of planning involved in family vacations. The biggest is where to stay. I think I’ve found a place, a first-class Orlando and Lake Buena Vista hotels. The Orlando Vista Hotel is located at the entrance Walt Disney World Theme Park and is convenient to Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios and all other major attractions. Not only is The Orlando Vista a great choice for family vacations it is the ideal choice for business travelers too. In fact, the American Urological Association is holding their 2008 annual meeting there. It’s the most convenient hotel to stay at while attending the AUA convention. The Orlando Vista is a disney good neighbor hotel. During down time, members can walk to nearby restaurants or sneak over to Pleasure Island, House of Blues & City Walk, it’s that close!

Although I did not pick them to win in the end, the UCONN Huskies blew it again this year. I had them going into the Sweet Sixteen but losing to the UCLA Bruins. Nope, they had to go and lose to the San Diego Toreros in overtime by one point. There’s gonna be a lot of unhappy people at work.

My 7 yr old son decided he was big enough to make his own breakfast. He chose a bagel with “Philadelphia cheese” (as he calls it). He’s at one end of the counter while I’m at the other making my coffee. We’re having a discussion on what a big boy he is, he’s taking car of so many things on his own and today he’s making his own breakfast. He’s splitting the bagel, spreading the cream cheese and I’m praising him.
I take the dog out, come back in and he asks if I could check his bagel for him. I didn’t know what he meant, I asked “where is your bagel” He replies “it’s in the toaster”
I guess I failed to tell him the proper order of preparing a bagel with cream cheese. Now he knows.

My father has owned his own business since 2000 and I do some work for him from time to time. There are certain times of the year where business is a little slow and he’s often talked about expanding and trying to build a bigger customer base. He travels often and everywhere. I suggested advertising but where and how?
Along comes VistaPrint.com with car door magnets. How great would that be for him? You can use one of their templates online or choose to use upload your own logo. I didn’t have one of his on hand to try out so I used on of their templates and it doesn’t look too bad! They seem to be really inexpensive, I could order 2 for only $14.98. It’s a great value. They’re magnets so they’re removable. He could take it off his vehicle and throw it in his suitcase when he goes away one a business trip. Then he could put the magnet on his rental car and advertise anywhere!

I also tried one of their online templates to create a magnet for my blog. It looks pretty good and is not a half bad idea to get yourself some traffic. We saw a car in the parade we went to last weekend with an advertising magnet on it with a web address, what do you think we did when we came home? We looked it up!In addition to car magnets, VistaPrint also offers a wide variety of printing services including checks, rubber stamps, announcements and you can customize everything.

March Madness is here. I love getting in on the action with the pool at work. I make my picks and usually watch my teams lose! I know nothing about basketball, let alone college basketball. Last year I tied with two other people for last, out of 23 entries. This year maybe I’ll come in second to last!

Time to get a watch! A Seiko Watch. I love watches and usually by one for myself every couple of years. I like to pick out one that is just a little bit different. Just enough for people to notice and comment “Ohh, I like your watch, it’s different”. I’ll typically go with a simple silver chain linked band with a colored face. I went to Bluedial.com and checked out their selection of Seiko Watches and absolutely fell in love with one there. It’s beautiful, the ladies Seiko SUJF28 is a two tone black dress watch with diamonds.
At Bluedial.com you’ll find a huge assortment of guaranteed top quality watches and they are all shipped with free 2nd day delivery or next day for $5.95.

Did you know that today is “Mr. Rogers Sweater Day”? I didn’t either. As a tribute to Fred Rogers, who died from cancer 5 years ago, people are encouraged to wear a sweater like Mr. Rogers did on his television show. I heard it on the radio this morning, today would’ve been his 80th birthday. The day is only half over, throw on your cardigan!

I didn’t plan it but I just so happened to be wearing a cardigan today. The look on my co-workers faces when I told them what day it was, as if I make this stuff up.

After viewing their website, I found that it may help you be more aware of your surroundings so that you will develop a presence awareness. They call the Sedona Method “The Technique for A New Earth”. The Sedona method seeks to teach people to not waste too much time worrying aout the past or future and instead to enjoy the present. The technique shows you how to let go. Let go of wanting to run away from things as opposed to embracing them. Bring your presence awareness into the foreground of your consciousness. Stop seeking happiness in all the wrong places.
