Friday Funny

This is for the easily amused, just like me!

A snail walks into a bar and the bartender tells him there’s a strict policy about having snails in the bar, so he kicks him out. A year later the same snail re-enters the bar and asks the bartender “What did you do that for?”

Another Thursday gone by…

Another Thursday and I don’t have a Thursday Thirteen to post.  I’ve been having some annoying internet issues at home and haven’t been able to do too much as far as my blog is concerned.  I do post a little here and there from work but Thursday Thirteens take a bit more effort.  I hope to have everything in working order by this evening and have time to peruse the blogs to read others T13 posts and maybe even be able to post a T13 before it’s Friday.

Oh, the woes. :(

Busy, Busy, Busy.

What a busy holiday I had! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We not only had dinner on Thursday but had a repeat on Friday. Every year my family gets together at Sunrise Park for Thanksgiving. This year we held it on Friday for my uncle, his wife and daughter came up from Texas to join us.

I tell people that we have Thanksgiving at a park and they think it’s a bit odd or we’re just nuts. There is a big enclosed pavilion with tables, chairs, a fireplace and electricity. The tables get decorated with tablecloths, candles and center pieces. We set up the food buffet-style, on hot plates and crock pots. We set up a little bar in one area. It’s one of my favorite places and the kids absolutely love going there, especially for Thanksgiving. After dinner my dad takes the kids on a hike and tells them ridiculously tall tales (usually believed by 6 and 7 yr olds), I decided to go this year and had so much fun. I’ll be posting pictures in the next few days, to share with you! :)

Heads or Tails - Never Say Never

I once said, a few years ago, that I would never leave my job. I would stay here until I retire. I was sure that I would just be there forever. I used to love my job and some days I still do but lately I feel like I could take it or leave it. Once in awhile I do look in the classifieds and on the net for employment opportunities. I have updated my resume and think that it’s only a matter of time before I move on to something new and/or different.

Never say never - six years is hardly forever.

First Snow

Today I awoke to a winter wonderland. Little bits of snow on the lawn, a dusting on the driveway. Beautiful. It was just enough until I hopped in my car to head into work. What normally is a 30 minute ride took over an hour! Now I look out my window from my office and see that it’s coming down hard and heavy.

Our first snow of the season and I’ve had enough already!

Thursday Thirteen #6

Thirteen Slogans for my Blog.

As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, I’ve been tweaking my blog a little each day.

I’m trying to come up with a slogan for it, I thought I’d stick with the procrastination theme or go with my name. You may recognize some of the ones below. Feel free to share any thoughts or suggestions.

1. A Day Without Procrastination is Like a Day Without Sunshine.

2. Where Procrastination is a Pleasure.

3. Choosy Mothers Choose Procrastination.

4. The Lighter Way To Enjoy Procrastination.

5. There’s Always Room For Procrastination.

6. Procrastination Comes to Those Who Wait.

7. Never Knowingly Stacey.

8. I’d Walk a Mile for a Stacey.

9. Think Stacey.

10. Break Me Off a Piece of That Stacey.

11. All Stacey, All The Time

12. The Ultimate Stacey Machine.

13. Watch Out, There’s a Stacey About.

And now time for some bragging.

My daughter came home today with her first report card as a middle-schooler and she made Second Honors, I’m sooo proud of her! Last week I offered her $2.00 for each A, A+ or A- she gets, nil for B’s and C’s cancel out the A’s. Each marking period they will go up 50 cents. I don’t want to go broke when she’s a Freshman! Now let’s bring up those B’s and get First Honors next time!
